On June 17th my son Jonah was born. In preparation for his arrival I painted a series of six animals on wood canvases, an elephant, giraffe, monkey, fish, sea turtle and octopus. Each one is 10in x 10in and painted with non-toxic acrylics. Check them out HERE. I also added some paintings to the FINE ART section of the site in 1997 and 2002.
A few days ago I returned from an amazing trip in Brazil. I spent most of my time in Rio, but got to spend some time on the beach in Buzios as well. I set up a Flickr photostream with my pics, you can view them HERE.
Over the past 10-15 years I've benefited from developing and maintaining a great deal of reference material that has served as a library of visual inspiration. So now I've created Visual Texture, a leefenvisual blog. Visual Texture will be a way to share this library, muse on all things visual, expose ideas for new art, works-in-progress and thoughts about art and design. There is now a permanent link to Visual Texture in the nav bar up above.
Summer has been a very productive time here at leefenvisual. I've been in the studio working on some new art and made some changes to the site. We now have a web store. Head on over and check out the posters and original artwork, all make great gifts for yourself and the art lover in your life. I've also added a news archive and an about section. In fine art you'll see a new 2007 section with two pieces I just finished, Burst and Pattern Eight Point.
